RED MILLS Special: Who Wins the LGCT Grand Prix of Rabat?
Oct 29, 2026
32 mins

Abdel Saïd has won the 2026 LGCT Championship with a leg to spare. The RED MILLS rider took LGCT Grand Prix wins in Cannes and Rome, and his horse Quaker now has an Elo rating around 760. Charlotte, Sam Watson and Emma preview the final leg in Rabat, where one ticket for the GCT Super Grand Prix in Verona is still up for grabs. They look at Sophie Hinners and the top-rated Iron Dames Sinclair, Pieter Devos's season, two young horses to watch, and RED MILLS rider Mikey Pender's nine-year-old. Then each host calls a podium.
Key Discussion Points
- Abdel Saïd's title. Two LGCT Grand Prix wins in 2026, 11th individually and team silver for Belgium at the World Championships in Aachen. He was the 2025 GCT Super Grand Prix winner.
- Iron Dames Sinclair. Top-rated horse in the Rabat field. Third in the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen, where only three went through to the jump-off, and part of Germany's team gold at the World Championships. Charlotte points out the horse has yet to win a major individual class. Sophie Hinners is 12th in the world rankings and on the bubble for the Rolex Top 10 in Geneva.
- Pieter Devos. Two homebreds carrying his season. Primo DV won the Rolex Grand Prix of Dinard. Rainbow, a nine-year-old, made a 5* 1.60m debut in Barcelona, clear in round one with one down in round two.
- The last ticket to Verona. Riders without a ticket have plenty to chase, among them the in-form mare second in Rome and double clear in Barcelona for Germany. Viktor Bettendorf and Gibson Prince already qualified in Riesenbeck.
- Under the radar. Dennis Lynch's Cordial was second to Max Kühner's Up Too Jacco Blue in Paris. Up Too Jacco Blue has four wins this season, including LGCT Paris and the World Cup in Oslo.
- Jump-off speed. Bettendorf, Kühner, Yuri Mansur's veterans Vitiki and Alfons, and Charlotte's late shout: Mikey Pender and his nine-year-old, seventh in the Rolex Grand Prix of Dublin.
- Moroccan form. Jérôme Guery won the World Cup in El Jadida in October, his first 5* Grand Prix win since Knokke in June 2021. Simon Delestre's Golden Boy was third.
