The conclusion of CHI Geneva 2025 delivered a moment that will stand as one of the defining achievements of modern show jumping. With victory in the Rolex Grand Prix of Geneva, Kent Farrington secured his ninth five-star Grand Prix or World Cup win of the 2025 season, surpassing the record he himself set in 2017. Alongside him, Greya produced a performance that elevated her into a category all her own, as the most successful horse ever recorded in a single calendar year at five-star level.

Nine Wins. One Rider. A New Benchmark.

Farrington’s Geneva victory marked his ninth five-star Grand Prix or World Cup win of 2025, a total unmatched in the EquiRatings records. The milestone eclipses his previous high-water mark of eight wins set in 2017, placing this season firmly in a league of its own. Achieved across some of the strongest fields in the sport, the result in Geneva was not just another win, but the decisive moment that confirmed 2025 as a historic year.

Seven Wins. One Horse. Uncharted Territory.

For Greya, Geneva represented even rarer territory. Her seventh five-star Grand Prix win of the year made her the first horse on record to reach that total in a single season. The previous benchmark — six wins — was held by Kent Farrington’s former partner Gazelle in 2017. Greya’s winning streak began earlier in the year in Wellington at the Winter Equestrian Festival, and it carried uninterrupted momentum all the way to the sport’s most prestigious indoor arenas, culminating on the grand stage of Geneva.

A Partnership for the Ages

The Rolex Grand Prix of Geneva did more than crown a winner, it confirmed a partnership operating beyond historical limits. Nine wins for one rider. Seven wins for one horse. Records not edged forward, but comprehensively reset. At the close of CHI Geneva 2025, Kent Farrington and Greya stand not only as winners of a great class, but as history makers whose season will be measured against for years to come.
