The tension is rising in Mexico City as horses and riders prepare for the big event of the weekend, the LGCT Grand Prix.

It comes as no great surprise that Swedish powerhouse Malin Baryard-Johnsson and H&M Indiana, the highest-rated horse in the field, stand alone as having the highest win chance. There is a 14% chance they will take the win in today’s Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Mexico City. The pair have more than proven they know how to win. Last season, they took top honours in the LGCT Grand Prix of Saint Tropez.

Two combinations each have a 13% chance of taking the gold today. Coming off a great weekend in Miami, Maikel van der Vleuten and his Beauville N.O.P. Z have seemed to continue their form here in Mexico, producing another clear for Madrid in Motion in Friday’s GCL Round 2. Can they add a second consecutive LGCT Grand Prix podium to their record this weekend? EquiRatings’ Prediction Centre foresees a 26% chance of that happening.

Laura Kraut and Baloutinue are the second pair to have a 13% win chance later on today. This combination has been in great form this weekend, producing a crucial and rare double clear round in the Global Champions League of Friday.

For the home crowd, Eugenio Garza Perez and Contago have the highest win chance among the Mexicans. At 6%, they tie with Daniel Deusser & Killer Queen VDM and David Will & My Prins van Dorperheide
