<h3>Team Size and Format</h3>
<p>Forget the old four with a drop score. In Eventing Manager 2.0, you have five selections and all scores are included. Consistency is king in this new game as every horse on your team has to deliver.</p>
<h3>A New Points System</h3>
<p>The penalty system is gone. Eventing Manager 2.0 brings in phase-by-phase scoring that rewards consistency, speed, and clear rounds:</p>
<ul>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">20 points in dressage</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">20 points in showjumping</li>
<li dir="ltr" aria-level="1">60 points in cross-country</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Dressage: </strong>A score of 25.0 or better = 20 points.&nbsp;Every penalty above that mark costs 1 point. Example: a 28.0 test = 17 points.</p>
<p><strong>Showjumping:</strong> A clear round = 20 points.&nbsp;Each fault knocks off 1 point. Example: two poles down (8 faults) = 12 points.</p>
<p><strong>Cross-Country:</strong> A clear inside the time = 60 points. Each jumping penalty costs the same in points (e.g. a refusal = &ndash;20 points). Every second over the time (0.4 penalties) = &ndash;1 point. Example: 1.6 time penalties (4 seconds over) = 56 points.</p>
<p>If one of your selections is eliminated or your horse does not finish all three phases, you keep the points that you have earned. There are no minus points - the lowest you can get in a phase is 0.</p>
<h3>No Transfers or Price Changes</h3>
<p>In Eventing Manager 2.0, you can not change your team as the competition plays out. The market will close just before the dressage phase begins and will not reopen.</p>
<h3>The Season-Long Game</h3>
<p>Eventing Manager 2.0 is going to be a season-long challenge. While you can win Manager of the Week or Month, the real prize is Manager of the Season. This will kick off properly in 2026 so now is the perfect time to get practicing and testing out new strategies.&nbsp;</p>

<p>July and August delivered one of the most compelling stretches of show jumping we&rsquo;ve seen in recent years. Fourteen five-star Grand Prix classes brought everything from landmark wins to major rating shake-ups, and the Flair Overview Show on the EquiRatings Jumping Podcast unpacked it all.</p>
<p>With the Elo ratings tracking performance strength and the Clears Against Standard (CAS) metric highlighting who delivers when the tracks get tough, this summer revealed both new contenders and resurgent veterans as we roll toward the next Rolex Major in Calgary.</p>

<h2>Brussels Breakthrough for Nina Mallevaey</h2>
<p>Perhaps the biggest headline came from Brussels, where France&rsquo;s Nina Mallevaey claimed her first-ever five-star Grand Prix victory with Dynastie de Beaufour. It was a win full of emotion and substance. The horse jumped ten Elo points to reach 760, moving into the world&rsquo;s top 25 and becoming the third-highest rated horse in France.</p>
<p>This victory capped off a season where Mallevaey has been almost unstoppable. Thirteen international wins, twenty-five podium finishes, and a string of talented horses have made her the standout U25 rider in the sport right now. With France giving increasing opportunities to its younger stars, the summer of 2025 might be remembered as the moment a new generation truly arrived.</p>

<h2>The U.S. Riders on Fire</h2>
<p>The United States delivered a run of results that confirmed its depth at the top level. Laura Kraut and Bisquetta lit up Dublin with a one-clear-round masterclass, while Aaron Vale and Carissimo 25 finally secured their long-awaited five-star Grand Prix win in Dinard.</p>
<p>Add Adrienne Sternlicht&rsquo;s victory in Ottawa and Kent Farrington&rsquo;s consistent form with Greya, &nbsp;it&rsquo;s clear the U.S. squad enters Calgary carrying both confidence and momentum. Few would be surprised to see this summer&rsquo;s streak continue under the biggest lights.</p>

<h2>Elo Rankings: Class at the Top, Pressure Rising Below</h2>
<p>At the top of the Elo table, King Edward retains his position on 813 points despite a quieter competition schedule. But the gap is tightening. Point Break, Beauville Z N.O.P., Ermitage Kalone, and United Touch S all posted major summer results to close in on the world number one.</p>
<p>Horses like Checker 47 and Dynastie de Beaufour climbed significantly, while experienced names such as Monaco and Donatello d&rsquo;Auge held their ground. The ratings now set up Calgary as a genuine clash between established legends and form horses on the rise.</p>

Iron Dames Singclair tops the summer list with an 80% clear rate at 1.60 meters, while Highland President and Imagine N.O.P. also stood out with strong scores on demanding courses.</p>
<p>Dynastie de Beaufour and Cayman Jolly Jumper combined climbing ratings with consistent clears, suggesting they will remain influential players as the season heads toward its peak.</p>

<p>Now the focus turns to Calgary&rsquo;s Rolex Grand Slam leg, where history, ratings, and form collide. Leonie Jei and Martin Fuchs, already the most decorated Grand Slam combination ever, return with a chance to add another major to their collection.</p>

Add the in-form U.S. riders and France&rsquo;s emerging stars, and Calgary could be the most open major of the decade.</p>

<p>This summer delivered everything: breakthrough moments, rising stars, national hot streaks, and high-stakes storylines. As the Flair Overview Show highlighted, the sport feels wide open right now. Whether it&rsquo;s Elo rankings at the top, CAS performances under pressure, or the Grand Slam narrative rolling into Calgary, the next chapter promises to be unmissable.</p>

We made selections, we dreamed, we wondered how Bricker was doing it&hellip; but mostly, we all felt part of something, together (remember those fantasy sim eventing days of covid! The Aachen Champion of Champions).&nbsp;<br><br>The last event of that first version was Maryland 5* in 2024. The game, designed back in 2018 was getting a bit janky. We had lost the Android family for about a year and our development team was starting to put patch on patch on patch which was expensive. We decided to go away and rebuild. <br><br>We know you might not like change. We know it won&rsquo;t all work perfectly immediately. Our hope is that we play all the remaining major competitions of 2025 and we will listen to your feedback. 2026 will see a full season long game for the first time.&nbsp;<br><br>We are back next week, so back.&nbsp;</p>

<p data-start="233" data-end="363">Some of the greatest performances in eventing don&rsquo;t come with a trophy. That&rsquo;s where <strong data-start="318" data-end="351">High Performance Rating (HPR)</strong>&nbsp;comes in.</p>
<p data-start="365" data-end="640">HPR measures the quality of a performance, not just the finishing position. It looks at factors such as the field strength, the conditions, and the scoring difficulty. This means you don't always have to win to produce one of the best performances on record.</p>

The Highest Rated Burghley Performances That Didn’t Win

<h3>1. Scotland&rsquo;s Newest 4*-L venue</h3>
<p>For years, Blair Castle was the home of top-level eventing in Scotland. Now, Scone Palace is back on the calendar and they come back bigger than ever. The CCI4*-L takes centre stage - the level that shapes Olympic and championship riders - alongside classes from BE90 through to CCI4*-S. With Blenheim hosting the Europeans this year, this CCI4*-L is hugely important for British Eventing.</p>
<p>This is not a relocation or copy of Blair. Scone is offering a flatter, more open layout compared to Blair&rsquo;s famously hilly, stamina-testing track. Expect a different type of challenge and expect a completely new event.</p>
<h3>2. Wills Oakden&rsquo;s Home Advantage</h3>
<p><strong>Perthshire's Wills Oakden</strong> couldn&rsquo;t have asked for a better local event. Wills arrives with four rides in four different classes.</p>

<li>MacGregor's Cooley - CCI3*-L</li>
<li>Another Class Cooley - CCI2*-L</li>
<li>Greystone Midnight Harmony - CCI1*-Intro</li>

<p data-start="72" data-end="438">Wills Oakden knows how to win on Scottish soil &mdash; he&rsquo;s collected <strong data-start="136" data-end="186">five Blair Castle titles in just three seasons</strong>. With <strong data-start="193" data-end="211">Keep It Cooley</strong>, he&rsquo;s risen through levels and won every time: CCI2-*L in 2022, CCI3-*L in 2023, and CCI4-*L in 2024. Add another CCI4-*L win with <strong data-start="337" data-end="355">A Class Cooley</strong> and a CCI2-*L title with <strong data-start="379" data-end="393">Mile Beach</strong>, and it&rsquo;s a record that speaks for itself.</p>
<p data-start="440" data-end="594">Now comes a new stage. At Scone, Wills isn&rsquo;t just chasing another result &mdash; with four rides in the mix, he could be eyeing anything from a sixth to a ninth Scottish win. Am I being too ambitious? Maybe a little... but it would make a great EquiRatings stat!</p>
<h3>3. Big Names Before Big Runs</h3>
<p>Scone doubles as a crucial prep run for some of the sport&rsquo;s biggest upcoming targets. Several Burghley-bound horses line up here. <strong>Emily King&rsquo;s Valmy Biats,</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Emma Thomas&rsquo;s Icarus</strong>, and <strong>Austin O'Connor's</strong> <strong>Sixmilewater</strong> are all sharpening up before tackling the world&rsquo;s toughest five-star.&nbsp;</p>
<p>On the Europeans front, <strong>Laura Collett&rsquo;s London 52</strong> headlines for Britain, while <strong>Tom McEwen&rsquo;s JL Dublin</strong> will run here. Ireland&rsquo;s&nbsp;<strong>Sarah Ennis</strong> also runs key hopefuls - <strong>Grantstown Jackson</strong> and <strong>Dourough Ferro Class Act</strong> - from the nominated list. Their performances at Scone will give us an early read on how championship form is shaping up.</p>
<h3>4. Who wins?</h3>
<p>The EquiRatings Prediction Centre has been running the numbers across both the <a href="https://prediction-centre.equiratings.com/competitions/scone_4l_2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CCI4*-L&nbsp;</a>and <a href="https://prediction-centre.equiratings.com/competitions/scone_4s_2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CCI4*-S.&nbsp;</a></p>
<p>In the CCI4*-L,&nbsp;<strong>Wills Oakden and Keep It Cooley</strong> top the board with a 20% win chance, followed closely by <strong>Izzy Taylor and SBH Big Wall</strong> at 19%. Both combinations arrive with standout recent form - with Wills and Izzy both finishing in 2nd place at Burgham in July.</p>

<p>Meanwhile in the CCI4*-S,&nbsp;<strong>Laura Collett and London 52</strong> dominate the stats, carrying a 37% win chance. The three-time 5* winners and Olympic bronze medallists lead a huge class filled with big names. <strong>Emily King </strong>has a 19% win chance with <strong>Valmy Biats</strong> while <strong>Ros Canter</strong> and <strong>Izilot DHI</strong> come just behind with 17%.&nbsp;</p>

<h3>5. What It Will Take to Win the CCI4*-L</h3>
<p>The stats from British CCI4*-L's paint a picture of what it might take to top the leaderboard at Scone. The&nbsp;average winning score over the last decade has been <strong>31.0</strong>, typically producing dressage in the high 20s, only 2&ndash;3 cross-country time penalties, and keeping the rails at a minimum on the final day.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Dressage:</strong> Expect <strong>SBH Big Wall (Izzy Taylor) </strong>and <strong>Landmark's Jungle Gold (Lauren Nicholson)</strong> to be in the mix after dressage. The question is if they can hold the lead.</li>
<li><strong>Cross-Country:</strong> Roughly 60% jump clear at British CCI4*-L, but when only 13% make the time &mdash; the speed horses have the best chances. Based on the EquiRatings Top Speed Percentage,<strong> MGH Jessica (Heidi Coy)</strong> and <strong>Keep it Cooley (Wills Oakden) </strong>are worth watching on Saturday.</li>
<li><strong>Showjumping:</strong> Only 33% of competitors jump clear on the final day of a British CCI4*-L. This is where consistent jumpers shine. <strong>Jenny Caras' Sommersby</strong> haven't had a rail in any of their last 11 international rounds.</li>
</ul>
<p>This all sounds simple on paper but it is pretty tough to execute. Over the last 10 years, there has been 1,899 starters at British CCI4*-L and only 95 have managed to finish on their dressage score &mdash; a mere 5%. Can anyone make history and be the first to do it at Scone?</p>
